Women in Consulting: In conversation with Nicole Mikschofsky, Partner at EOS Deal Advisory

In April 2026, a group of senior women in consulting gathered in London for an InX roundtable on the hidden rules, double standards and structural barriers shaping their careers. The conversation didn't end when the breakfast did.

The InX Women in Consulting Series picks up where it left off: one-to-one conversations with senior women across the industry, one conversation at a time.

In conversation with Nicole Mikschofsky, Partner at EOS Deal Advisory

This instalment is with Nicole Mikschofsky, Partner & Managing Director at EOS Deal Advisory, a boutique advisory firm working across large corporates and mid-market private equity, in conversation with Rishi DuSodha, Partner at InX.

Nicole joined EOS as a director, having come from industry rather than a traditional consulting background, and built the firm's pharma and life sciences pillar from there. She's candid about what it actually took to move beyond a delivery-focused role and into partner-track thinking — and why that shift gets harder, not easier, the more senior you become.

Her framing splits success into two foundations: a personal one, built on backing yourself even on the days you don't feel like it, and a support one, built on how she and her partner share parenting as a genuinely dual effort. She's equally direct about the mechanics of building a career in a boutique firm, where personal brand does far more of the work than the firm's name, and what that means for how she approaches every meeting she walks into.

TLDR: Nicole’s advice for women in consulting

  1. Back yourself daily. The personal foundation, showing up and trusting your ability even on the harder days, matters as much as technical skill.

  2. Invest in your personal brand and network early. In a boutique firm especially, it's your name that makes the phone ring, and that takes years to build.

  3. Treat business development as trading networks, not selling services. Rejection isn't personal — it just means trying a different angle next time.
