Meet the newest members of our UK Strategy & Consulting team

At InX, our Strategy & Consulting team combines deep sector insight with a specialist mindset to deliver tailored leadership solutions across management consulting practices. Spanning the UK and Europe, our London team brings domain expertise, international reach and boutique precision.

While Matthew Cook, Rishi Sodha and Morgan Hicks are not new to The IN Group, having previously worked at Investigo, they have recently made the move to InX. We sat down with the team to dive deeper into their areas of focus, understand how they successfully deliver for clients and learn more about them outside of the office.

Firstly, could you give the readers a short summary of what you’re responsible for at InX?

Matthew: I specialise in placing Partners and Managing Directors into consulting firms across Europe, with particular expertise in supply chain and procurement alongside corporate strategy and transactions. I've built strong relationships with numerous market-leading firms, supporting everything from senior hires to team builds and acquisition opportunities. I pride myself on identifying niche skillsets and understanding the real-world operational experience that separates good consultants from exceptional ones.

Rishi: I lead Partner and Director-level recruitment across supply chain, procurement and operations consulting in the UK. Whether it's a strategic placement at a Big 4 firm or building out a team for a PE-backed boutique, I focus on understanding what drives talent and matching capability with culture. I'd say my strength lies in my network and my ability to identify leaders who don't just fit the brief on paper, but genuinely align with the business's vision and values.

Morgan: My focus is placing Partner and Director-level leaders into consulting firms across the DACH region. I work predominantly in the supply chain and operations space, partnering with MBB, Tier 2, Big 4 and boutique firms on strategic hires and team builds. With over seven years’ experience in executive search, I understand the unique dynamics of consulting recruitment and the nuances of cross-border hiring — and my goal is always to deliver leaders who drive impact.

The executive search market is fiercely competitive; what would you say sets Inx apart?

Matthew: We're highly selective about what we take on. We work exclusively on operations and supply chain consulting searches in specific locations, and we're not afraid to say no to anything outside that remit. That focus is what allows us to deliver consistently.

Rishi: We're relationship-led. I've built connections with key leaders over 5-10 years, and they know us for delivering results. Unlike larger, more generalist firms, we go inch-wide and a mile-deep. Our geographical and functional focus is very specialised.

Morgan: We prioritise long-term relationships over transactions, partnering closely with clients to understand their businesses in depth. Many candidates are surprised by how focused and specialised our approach is – but that’s what allows us to deliver genuine impact.

What's the most interesting trend you're seeing in the market right now?

Matthew: Energy and defence are hot sectors in Germany currently, whilst automotive and the supplier network face significant pressure from new tariff regimes and Asian competition, driving demand for transformation. This is where supply chain and procurement consultants come in, as material sourcing, tech integration, operating model redesign and negotiation strategy are key growth drivers.

Despite broader macroeconomic challenges, the German consulting market remains highly attractive to PE firms, leading to increased consolidation among mid-sized and boutique consultancies — creating fresh competition for larger established players.

Rishi: Over the last 12-18 months, there's been a notable talent shift, moving from large corporates to mid-sized and boutique firms. It's not just about strategic operations anymore — there's a real move towards implementation and transformation, with clients wanting tangible, in-year ROI on their consulting investments. And whilst it's been said many times before, there's a genuine lack of diverse and female talent in the sector, and demand is high.

Morgan: There's been a significant increase in M&A activity and consolidation in the DACH region. Boutique and mid-sized consultancies are either entering the market with PE backing and pursuing aggressive hiring and growth strategies, or they're seeking acquisition themselves. The landscape is changing rapidly.

Finally, we want to get to know you outside of work. Tell us a bit about yourself...

What’s the best restaurant or bar in London?

Matthew: St. John — it’s a classic.

Rishi: Brunswick House in Vauxhall. Their Sunday roast is exceptional — the bone marrow Yorkshire pudding is ridiculous. They also do jazz and cocktail nights, with £5 glasses of champagne.

Morgan: Luca in Clerkenwell.

What are you currently watching, reading or listening to?

Matthew: Reading Minority Rule by Ash Sarkar... and also Your Baby Week by Week, as I'm a new dad.

Rishi: Reading The Bezos Letters by Steve Anderson. Sad to have just finished watching Traitors

Morgan: Reading Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins – what a story of transformation and resilience!

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

Matthew: That’s easy — Bohemian Rhapsody. The whole thing, every time.

Rishi: Wonderwall (sorry).

Morgan: Your Song by Elton John.

What was your very first job?

Matthew: Doing the paper round, followed closely by packing bananas in a factory in Swindon. I couldn’t eat bananas for a while after that...

Rishi: I was a customer shop assistant in Boots.

Morgan: As a steward at events including the races and F1. It was fun watching the events, but less fun telling drunk people where they could and couldn’t drink!
